Bodies for Strontium 90

honeycombguy A criminally overlooked gem in mathcore. I cannot get enough of this album's rythym section. The vocals are definitely a bit weird, but it honestly fits the music pretty well. Check it out if you like Shellac, Botch, or other bands like those. Favorite track: Caught My Tell.

Pedestrial The tracks seem desperate to tear their way out of the heavy compression, never heard an album mixed with so much brutal energy.
It seems criminal to say that this album is their most straight forward rock out album because it's still more complex than most stuff out there, but there are less layers and dynamic shifts compared to previous albums. Favorite track: Is It Safe?.

Moody Tuner Craw's first album blew my mind in the early 90's: Heavy but nonconventional, weird time signatures, vocals that didn't pander and excellent songwriting / musicianship. The band has an uncompromising vision that works. Don't pass up this overlooked gem! Favorite track: Caught My Tell.

about

Confounding, perplexing, and all consuming - a few insufficient words to describe 'Bodies for Strontium 90,' the fourth full length from Cleveland's own audial chemists CRAW. Though the group persisted for 10+ years, their existence is still relatively unknown, and unjustly so. Too vicious to be a successful art rock band, and too obtuse for the headbangers to mosh to, perhaps it is just a simple case of elusive identity. This album is a testimony to musical cunning and should satisfy all those seeking strange and uncomfortable musics. Fans of KEELHAUL (with whom CRAW share members), THE JESUS LIZARD, and DAZZLING KILLMEN take note.
